-
The Community Unit of the new regional structure focuses on maintaining good relations outside traditional academic institutions, and contributing our members expertise to projects of public good.
-
We envision Community Units to focus on ongoing local collaborations that can span years and foster mutual engagement between academic and non academic institutions.
-
The Research Units are designed to extend our research connections outside the traditional networks created by universities and graduate programs.
-
Regular meetings that involve reading cutting edge work, discussion novel research findings, and planning collaborative research projects tie regional members directly to the programming of the national AAR.
-
Something that has often been left for members to find themselves is solidarity in our profession and help with motivation. Coworking Units are designed to foster this solidarity across institutions and help combat the isolation of academic life.
-
The primary activities of the Community Units are accountability meetings, where the units keep each other up-to-date on the status of their long-term projects throughout the year.
